Who should take Slipcover Certification?
To have a successful Slipcover Business one should be fully educated in the field they wish to work. When finished with Slipcover Certification one will have the education, knowledge and background to Slipcover furniture in as a Professional.
What is the Slipcover Certification Program?
I.       Novice: Beginner Level:

·          the basics

·          start at the beginning

·          measuring, cutting, sewing

·          complete at least 6 different projects

·          explore fabrics

·          set up a successful business

·          business plan

·          bookkeeping

·          marketing/advertising

·          networking in and outside of the trade

·          work with a mentor throughout this level of certification

II.    Journey Person: Intermediate Level: Continue education

·          explore various methods of slipcovering

·          complete 6 slipcovers for difficult furniture

·          conquer new fabrics

·          experiment  with styles/various types of closures

·          continue business education

·          work with a mentor throughout this level of certification

III. Master: Experienced Level:

·          participate in Instructor training

·          teach a slipcover class (live or Online)

·          participate in writing a column or article

·          participate in an event

·          be a mentor

·          work with a mentor throughout this level of certification

I am already fabricating Slipcovers in my business, do I have to start from the beginning?
All who want to participate in the Slipcover Certification Program must fill out an evaluation of experience to be placed in the correct level of the program. Slipcover Evaluation (click here) to be Evaluated.
Where do I take Classes?
Classes may be taken at any trade school, college, trade show or single workshop such as:

How do I find a Mentor?

Mentors will be assigned to you via the Slipcover Certification Program.  If you know someone who you would like to mentor with, they must be qualified and registered with the Slipcover Certification Program.

How long will the Slipcover Certification Program take to complete?

It depends on the level of experience.  It can take anywhere for 6 – 18 months depending on ones’ commitment and time available to complete the program.
